Holding our breath...

We are about to start a Spontaneous Breathing Trial
to see if Bronson is ready to extibate fom the ventilator...
.
He is still intibated with a breathing tube,
but they are turning it off.
.
{Ahhhh! Scary!}
.
They will let him take over breathing on his own for an hour to see how strong his lungs are.
If he does well, they will take him off permanently in the morning.
.
We are holding our breath hoping he doesn't hold his!
.
.
Prayers needed!

I just left a comment, but want you to know I think you are amazing already. I worked at Primary's on their Neuro Trauma Unit so I worked where you may be headed next. Families like you and yours constantly inspired and amazed me. Your strength and love of your children was a true reminder to me that miracles happen and God is always with us.

Oh my dear stranger. I love you and am praying for your little one. Thank heavens for priesthood power and a righteous man! I will hold my son a little closer tonight. Thinking of you and your family.

Is he awake for this breathing test, or still sedated?

(Somehow knowing how it all works seems to give power to my prayers. Of course ignore this sort of thing if it is a burden to you!)

We have posted this blog address on our missionary website so those who want all the details can follow along.

It's an inspiration, and I suspect we're all holding our breath right now as he undergoes this test...

Matt and Sara,

We are so very grateful for the updates and the great progress. Miracles are real. We are all praying for Bronson and your family. Jim has the very best blood...they are always calling him to donate. He is O neg but he is also negative on several other factors that they check for. So if he could donate some blood, we would be glad to do it. Let us know if there is anything we can do.

I just read a post on Natalie's blog and had to come let you know that I am praying for you and your family.
My brother fell into our backyard pool at just over a year old (they didn't know how long he was in there either; est. 5-10 mins). Reading your story brought back SO many memories -I was 5 at the time- the blessings, prayers, fasting. My first memory of prayer is praying for my little brother. He had ALL the odds against him (50/50 chance of survival, 92% chance of being in a vegetative state for the rest of his life) and he was our miracle. He had to relearn everything. It was a challenge. But he's a typical 27 yr old now. Heavenly Father answered our prayers. As I know He will answer yours.
Thinking of you and your family.

I hope you receive much peace and comfort. I am a believer of collective prayer and miracles.

Sara,
I held my breath as I read the account of your recent journey you are embarking on. I felt my heart ache as a mother and know what it's like to want to keep your child safe. The power of the Atonement is ever so real that at times it's almost tangible. I have learned through quite a refining process of my own that growing experiences come to us by others practicing their agency, Heavenly Father providing us an opportunity to grow or using our own agency. I can say honestly that there really is no way to clarify where each experience came from, it's what we do with it. How precious of a testimony your family is gaining about the power of prayer, the priesthood, and watching their parents turn to their Heavenly Father and Savior instead of becoming bitter and blaming them. I pray for you most of all Sara, that you will be comforted and receive peace.

Sara,

Our whole family is praying hard and waiting with baited breath for news. My 7-year-old niece Mia joined her dad in fasting for the first time on Monday for Bronson. I cannot imagine the absolute agony this week has been for you. We all sobbed as we read your account of the tragedy - especially imagining Daynen trying so hard to hold up his baby brother, and of the anguish and regret you feel. I pray that your heart will be healed by the Atonement. I am grateful to know you are surrounded by some of the most giving, loving, Christlike people I've ever known. Your family will continue to be in our prayers.

Love,
Maren Ingles
