We are about to start a Spontaneous Breathing Trial
to see if Bronson is ready to extibate fom the ventilator...
.
He is still intibated with a breathing tube,
but they are turning it off.
.
{Ahhhh! Scary!}
.
They will let him take over breathing on his own for an hour to see how strong his lungs are.
If he does well, they will take him off permanently in the morning.
.
We are holding our breath hoping he doesn't hold his!
.
.
Prayers needed!

Have faith :)
I just left a comment, but want you to know I think you are amazing already. I worked at Primary's on their Neuro Trauma Unit so I worked where you may be headed next. Families like you and yours constantly inspired and amazed me. Your strength and love of your children was a true reminder to me that miracles happen and God is always with us.
I found your blog through a friend. We are praying for your family and that sweet baby! We will keep checking for updates.
Oh my dear stranger. I love you and am praying for your little one. Thank heavens for priesthood power and a righteous man! I will hold my son a little closer tonight. Thinking of you and your family.
Is he awake for this breathing test, or still sedated?
(Somehow knowing how it all works seems to give power to my prayers. Of course ignore this sort of thing if it is a burden to you!)
We have posted this blog address on our missionary website so those who want all the details can follow along.
It's an inspiration, and I suspect we're all holding our breath right now as he undergoes this test...
Praying for your sweet son and family.
Sara and Matt, Your family and especially sweet little Bronson has been in our every prayer since Saturday. Our kids never forget and ask about him every day. I love reading your beautiful, candid remarks. It makes all who read it want to cherish life and hold tight to their kids. Thank you for sharing. We love you guys. Keep up the fight, Little B!
You have our prayers, our love and our hearts as your family travels this journey.

I like many others found your blog through Natalie's blog.
You have a beautiful family and my heart and prayers go out to lift you up and give you strength through this trial and many many prayers on behalf of sweet Bronson.
I can in no way imagine any of what you are feeling, but know there are many hearts and hands reaching to give support. I hope you feel the warm embrace of our Heavenly Father constantly.
Matt and Sara,
We are so very grateful for the updates and the great progress. Miracles are real. We are all praying for Bronson and your family. Jim has the very best blood...they are always calling him to donate. He is O neg but he is also negative on several other factors that they check for. So if he could donate some blood, we would be glad to do it. Let us know if there is anything we can do.

Our family shares in your emotions at this time. We hang on every post you make. Thanks for making this available to us. We are lovingly praying for you, and feel miracles are taking place in your midst . . . What a sweet family you have, what a treasure!!!
Matt and Sara - You are an incredible strength to us and everyone that you touch.
I came across your blog through a series of Twitter posts tonight and I am petitioning to the Father for your sweet boy. May He hold you and yours tightly in His grip through this journey.
I just read a post on Natalie's blog and had to come let you know that I am praying for you and your family.
My brother fell into our backyard pool at just over a year old (they didn't know how long he was in there either; est. 5-10 mins). Reading your story brought back SO many memories -I was 5 at the time- the blessings, prayers, fasting. My first memory of prayer is praying for my little brother. He had ALL the odds against him (50/50 chance of survival, 92% chance of being in a vegetative state for the rest of his life) and he was our miracle. He had to relearn everything. It was a challenge. But he's a typical 27 yr old now. Heavenly Father answered our prayers. As I know He will answer yours.
Thinking of you and your family.
I found your blog through pics and kicks. I will be praying for you tonight and every day through your ordeal. I'm in Virginia and sending love and strength your way.
I wish I could better express in words my thoughts and feelings. I do not know you but my heart and soul are filled with prayer and hope and love for your little one and your family and you. I felt the spirit so strongly as I read though your last few post, I cried and cried. You are such a wonderful example of faith and hope. Much love.
Couldn't sleep, so I got up to surf around the 'net...then Natalie sent me. I knew there was a reason I wasn't sleeping...I needed to be praying. Praying for YOUR strenght to stay strong for your little guy. God is GREAT and miracles do happen every day!
Praying for your baby bronson's health and strength...and loving his hair duo!

Dear Sweet Sara--
I'm so sorry to hear about your precious Bronson. Please know I am offering fervent prayers for him and your family. I will also add him to the prayer roll tomorrow when I go to the temple.
My 2 year old daughter was born a couple of hours before Bronson on October 5, 2008. We'll have to arrange a jr. prom date!
I hope you receive much peace and comfort. I am a believer of collective prayer and miracles.
Love to you--Christy

I am so sorry for you but still very hopeful. I saw your blog through a friend's blog and want you to know that we are adding our prayers to yours. Um, I am also wondering if you know anyone who does foot renewal or zoning. I actually do it and its amazing and helping the body heal itself. I certainly would come down (I'm in Logan) if you wanted. Maybe you know someone. Maybe you're not interested. Regardless, God bless. I believe your boy will be fine. I do. summerschaefer@gmail.com

~Natalie
Hi Sara, I was directed to your blog from Natalie Norton and a few others on my FB. I think about how many times I have done that with my 1 year old it's so scary. Your family will be in my prayers and hopefully as I continue to check your blog that the good news will contine!
MANY prayers headed your way!
I just said a goooood prayer for you guys.
Praying so very hard.
Just read all your posts concerning Bronson. What a little sweet-heart!! I linked to here from Natalie Norton's blog and I'll now be including you & your family in my prayers along with Natilie. C'mon Bronson!!!
Although we do not know each other, we do know the same father in heaven who is watching over you and your wonderful family. I know he will continually bless all of you. We are all praying for you and will continue to do so.
Sara,
I held my breath as I read the account of your recent journey you are embarking on. I felt my heart ache as a mother and know what it's like to want to keep your child safe. The power of the Atonement is ever so real that at times it's almost tangible. I have learned through quite a refining process of my own that growing experiences come to us by others practicing their agency, Heavenly Father providing us an opportunity to grow or using our own agency. I can say honestly that there really is no way to clarify where each experience came from, it's what we do with it. How precious of a testimony your family is gaining about the power of prayer, the priesthood, and watching their parents turn to their Heavenly Father and Savior instead of becoming bitter and blaming them. I pray for you most of all Sara, that you will be comforted and receive peace.
What an amazing story, Bronson and your family are now in my prayers:)
that cat holding his breath is perfect. when we came to visit yesterday, out of all the tubes little B has in him, that ventilator looks the meanest. i can't wait to hear it's gone. gone forever.
loves.
Sara,
Our whole family is praying hard and waiting with baited breath for news. My 7-year-old niece Mia joined her dad in fasting for the first time on Monday for Bronson. I cannot imagine the absolute agony this week has been for you. We all sobbed as we read your account of the tragedy - especially imagining Daynen trying so hard to hold up his baby brother, and of the anguish and regret you feel. I pray that your heart will be healed by the Atonement. I am grateful to know you are surrounded by some of the most giving, loving, Christlike people I've ever known. Your family will continue to be in our prayers.
Love,
Maren Ingles
