Pin down...

We've had a pretty slow day here and a very sleepy little guy
aaaaaalllllll day long... not much action, really.
And then they took him off the Versed...
WOW!
We've got one strong little dude here!
It took Matt and I,
the Respiratory Therapist,
and TWO nurses to hold him down...
Another nurse to turn off all the alarms...
And still another to give him a bolus of sedative!
Let's just say he did NOT want to be suctioned.
It was a total wrestling match!
He put up a DARN good fight!
.
.
And am I sorry about that?
Not on your life!
YAY!

Oh my goodness, how did I not hear about this. I went to your blog on a random whim and have been in complete shock. As I was reading everything I was literally shaking inside. The fear that you must have had put me to tears. Oh my dear Sara, my heart goes out to you and your beautiful family. I am glad to see that he is making progress. The power of the priesthood is amazing. Your words from Matts blessing gave me shivers. Thank you for your words about squeezing our kids tighter, I will take sweet advice and do exactly that.
Love you Sara

Sara and Matt,

I am praying for you with more fervor than you could EVER possibly imagine. . . except that maybe you can. . .

I have walked the path of cooling pads and Pic lines and respirators and no cell phones in the picu and respiratory therapists and suctioning and angel nurses and doctors and 3 pairs of teary little boy eyes pleading with me to bring their brother home and terror and joy and fear and hope and the power of the Holy Ghost somehow giving you peace amid the storm.

God IS a God of miracles. I KNOW this to be true. I KNOW, KNOW, KNOW this to be true.

He holds your hearts in his hands and wipes your tears on the wings of Angels.

Please know that while you cry by Brysons bedside, I will also be here by mine, pleading to God in your behalf.

Please know, that I am particularly praying for your sons. They are brave and strong but I recognize this is terrifying for them.

ALL my love.

Sincerely,

Natalie Norton

I will pray morning, noon and night and will pass on prayer requests to all my friends and family. I read my sister Natalie Norton's blog daily and read her plea to pray for your son. My family and I will pray for you as you are family. God be with you. "Trust the Lord with all your heart, and don't depend on your own understanding"

Sending love and prayers! Every parent has done exactly what you did and gotten distracted by something like that while our kids are in the tub, or doing any number of things that could get them into trouble, so don't blame yourself. God has a plan and he loves you and your family. Trust in that.
Hugs from across the miles.
